This project is my graduation project which covers most issues in the design stage.
The focus is upgrade of Bankstown airport into a regional airport for airlines operating its flights. Unlike an international or domestic airport, it functions for class 3C small propeller aircrafts.
There are three major topics to be explored:
1) the planning of the airport terminal building
2) the potential of timber as the major material in providing a powerful and engaging architectural character for the structure and construction of building
3) the potential to provide a resource that could serve as both a commercial airport and community facility for local residents.
